RAPID CITY – Rapid City is a prime location for sex traffickers to recruit, manipulate and profit from victims as it is located just minutes away from one of the poorest counties in the United States, Oglala Lakota County, home of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

Historically, the sex trafficking of Native American women began prior to the development and formation of reservations as European and indigenous cultures were forced to live amongst each other.
